Overview of Recent Activity
Organizations focused on operational automation testing, AI-driven networking and observability, and infrastructure buildouts, while regulators and vendors issued updates for OT asset governance and active vulnerability remediation. Parallel developments included fiber network investment, data center infrastructure forecasts covering power and cooling, and enterprise migration tooling for VMware-related moves.
Key Themes and Developments
Technology Releases & Product Enhancements
Platform9 updated Private Cloud Director to support in-place cluster conversion via its vJailbreak tool for VMware vSphere cluster migrations. The update enabled enterprises to keep services online during migration, and the release also supported features such as “AI hardware sharing and DevOps integration.”
Viasat introduced its HaloNet portfolio to unify space and terrestrial connectivity for near-Earth operations. HaloNet included services such as Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) Data Relay and Launch Telemetry, and it supported “Direct-to-Earth connectivity through Viasat’s broad global ground station network.”
Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement
Infosys and Telstra announced a joint venture to enhance AI-enabled cloud solutions for Australian enterprises. Infosys acquired a 75% stake in Versent Group, a wholly owned Telstra subsidiary, while Telstra retained a 25% minority interest.
Itential collaborated with a major banking client to test production automation in a temporary environment resembling the client’s production setup. The effort used “a combination of AWS EC2 instances and Itential’s on-premises (on-prem) labs” and used Containerlab to simulate network devices.
Infrastructure, Platform, or Deployment Updates
Brightspeed raised $1.65 billion for fiber network expansion across 20 states. The funding followed prior capital raises, and the company stated that it would expand its fiber network to “more homes, businesses, and communities who need it.”
Dell’Oro Group forecast that the Data Center Physical Infrastructure (DCPI) market would reach $63.1 billion by 2029, citing demand for accelerated computing workloads and AI-related operational demands. The report projected direct liquid cooling growth from $1.1 billion in 2024 to approximately $5.8 billion by 2029.
Additional Updates from Other Organizations
CISA and U.S. agencies released guidance for OT owners and operators to create and maintain OT asset inventories and supplemental taxonomies. CISA described an asset inventory as “a regularly updated, structured list of an organization's systems, hardware, and software.”
CISA also updated its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) Catalog with three D-Link entries based on evidence of active exploitation, and it released a Malware Analysis Report with detection signatures for Microsoft SharePoint vulnerabilities. The report stated threat actors chained CVE-2025-49704 and CVE-2025-49706 (publicly known as “ToolShell”) to gain unauthorized access to on-premises SharePoint servers.
