Rogers Communications sells data centres to InfraRed Capital
Rogers Communications Inc. completed a definitive agreement with InfraRed Capital Partners to sell nine data centres. The deal enables Rogers to maintain retail operations and provide data services post-sale.
Rogers planned this transaction as part of its strategy to divest real estate and non-core assets, allowing the company to use the proceeds for debt repayment. Closing is anticipated by the end of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
The sale does not include corporate data centres critical for the company's own operations. InfraRed, backed by Sun Life, aims to ensure a smooth transition for clients during this process.
