Nokia's recent partnerships enhance broadband and 5G solutions - May 2025

Nokia partnered with Three Sweden to deploy Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology, expanding broadband access for B2B customers. This effort targets improving connectivity in areas lacking fiber availability, delivering faster internet service.

The introduction of Nokia's FastMile 5G Gateway 2 enables users in underserved regions to achieve high-speed internet access, enhancing online experiences related to streaming and remote work. This initiative aims to strengthen Nokia's position in the competitive Swedish broadband market.

Furthermore, Nokia formed a partnership with Andorix to enhance private 5G networks in North America, focusing on commercial, residential, and industrial properties. This collaboration aims to improve building operations through advanced connectivity strategies, targeting efficient energy management and cybersecurity solutions.

Colt, Honeywell, and Nokia initiated a collaboration to test quantum-safe networking via Satellite Communications (Satcom), focusing on safeguarding encrypted optical network traffic against quantum computing threats. This effort is aimed at organizations handling sensitive data, like financial institutions and government entities.

Nokia introduced a co-existence solution for operators to run 10G, 25G, and 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) services on the same fiber, maximizing infrastructure investments. This allows operators flexibility in service offerings while accommodating future bandwidth demands.

In the defense sector, Nokia partnered with blackned to develop advanced deployable tactical networks. This initiative combines Nokia's 5G technology with blackned’s digital solutions, enhancing secure military communications and operational capabilities.

Additionally, Nokia is enhancing Optus’s 5G network in regional Australia with new technologies aimed at increasing coverage and capacity. This upgrade follows Optus's RAN-sharing agreement with Temporal Planning Graph (TPG) Telecom, emphasizing energy-efficient solutions.

Nokia launched Aurelis Optical Local Area Network (LAN), a fiber-based solution designed for enterprises, addressing connectivity demands and reducing cabling and power needs. The solution supports up to 25Gb/s speeds, with future capabilities planned.

Nokia further supplied its Banshee tactical private wireless solutions to the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA), improving battlefield communications capabilities. This delivery was part of ongoing collaboration efforts to enhance military communication effectiveness.

Finally, Nokia was selected by CoreSite for a routing-based network solution aimed at boosting data centers' capabilities, enhancing reliability for data-intensive applications. The project focuses on meeting increasing demands for high-performance connectivity.
