More About CoreSite
CoreSite provides colocation and interconnection services in carrier-neutral data centers designed for enterprises, cloud providers, and network operators that require low-latency connectivity and access to multiple networks and cloud platforms. Customers use CoreSite facilities to deploy compute, storage, and networking infrastructure in proximity to cloud on-ramps and Internet Exchange Points (IXP) to support hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
Within these facilities, CoreSite offers space, power, and cooling, along with structured cabling and cross-connects (interconnection) that link customer environments with carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISP), content and digital platforms, and cloud providers. This enables architectures that combine private infrastructure with public cloud services over dedicated network paths, reducing reliance on public internet transit while supporting requirements for performance, consistency of latency, and traffic routing control.
CoreSite data centers support common enterprise and cloud networking constructs, including Ethernet, IP-based routing, and private layer 2 and layer 3 connectivity. Many deployments use CoreSite’s cloud connectivity services (cloud connectivity) to establish private links to public cloud regions, often integrated with software-defined Wide Area Network (WAN) (SD-WAN) or Virtual Private Network (VPN) architectures managed by the customer or by network partners. Customers can build hub-and-spoke or mesh topologies that connect branch locations, on-premises (on-prem) data centers, and CoreSite colocation environments to one or more cloud platforms.
In addition to physical colocation, CoreSite provides interconnection services such as cross-connects, peering, and access to internet exchanges (interconnection), which support content distribution, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery, and latency-sensitive applications. These services position CoreSite within marketplace categories such as colocation data centers, cloud connectivity hubs, and network interconnection platforms. Enterprises commonly use CoreSite facilities as regional aggregation points for traffic destined for public cloud environments, partner ecosystems, or end users.
CoreSite also supplies operational support through remote hands and related managed services, enabling customers to delegate routine physical tasks such as equipment installs, cabling changes, and hardware checks. This supports scenarios where infrastructure teams manage environments remotely while integrating CoreSite-hosted assets into centralized monitoring, logging, and configuration management systems. For directory and taxonomy purposes, CoreSite aligns with categories including colocation services, interconnection services, hybrid cloud connectivity, and edge-adjacent data center infrastructure for network- and cloud-centric workloads.
