Nokia introduces co-existence solution for 10G, 25G, and 50G PON on the same fiber network
Nokia has introduced a co-existence solution enabling operators to simultaneously run 10G, 25G, and 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) services over the same fiber network. This solution allows for varied service offerings, which can cater to specific business needs while protecting existing infrastructure investments.
This development facilitates flexible options for operators, allowing them to deliver different combinations of PON technologies to residential and enterprise customers. The solution supports high-speed service rollouts and dense deployments, meeting the increasing demand for reliable Broadband connectivity.
Nokia's co-existence network element helps operators maximize existing fiber by adding different PON technologies without disrupting current services. “Moving to next-generation PON is a competitive advantage for operators seeking to offer differentiated services... Our co-existence solution allows operators to support all flavors of PON on a single fiber,” said Geert Heyninck, General Manager, Broadband Networks at Nokia.
With this solution, operators can evolve from existing services to 50G and beyond without extensive upgrades, ensuring adaptability to future demands for Bandwidth and speed.
