The event involved over 10,000 troops from nations including Norway, Canada, and France, focusing on improving cooperation in Arctic defense operations.
Nokia's technology included AirScale radio products and 5G Standalone Core, enabling real-time battlefield intelligence accessible to field personnel. This advancement in communications was designed to streamline operations and improve decision-making processes within military units.
The exercise occurred in Bardufoss, Norway, and aimed to strengthen military collaboration and assess Norway's capabilities for receiving allied reinforcement. The Norwegian Material Defense Agency partnered with mobile operators, including a recent agreement with Lyse and Nokia to enhance tactical communications.
Kennet Nomeland, a liaison for Norway's Ministry of Defense, noted the importance of Nokia's 5G technology in preparing armed forces for complex joint operations.
