Daily Intelligence Brief: ASML invests in Mistral AI, Mitsubishi Electric acquires Nozomi Networks - September 10, 2025

ASML and Mistral Artificial Intelligence (AI) announced a partnership aimed at enhancing product development through AI.

ASML agreed to invest €1.3 billion in Mistral AI’s Series C funding, acquiring approximately 11% ownership in the company. Under the collaboration, the companies will explore AI applications within ASML's product portfolio to improve delivery and performance.

ASML’s President and CEO Christophe Fouquet indicated the partnership is designed to create benefits for customers via AI-enabled products. Meanwhile, Mistral AI’s CEO Arthur Mensch noted the potential for innovation within the semiconductor and AI sectors.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has signed an agreement to acquire Nozomi Networks, enhancing its capabilities in Operational technology (OT) and cybersecurity. This acquisition aims at increasing cybersecurity services while leveraging data and AI. Planned to close in Q4 2025, Nozomi will become a wholly owned subsidiary, preserving its brand and leadership.

The acquisition is a continuation of their prior collaboration, where Mitsubishi Electric participated in Nozomi’s $100 million Series E funding round. Leaders from both companies expressed optimism towards utilizing their combined resource strengths to improve cybersecurity solutions across industrial sectors.

Huawei secured the leading spot in the global wearable market, achieving a 20.2% share during Q2 2025, as reported by the International Data Corporation. This marks Huawei's second consecutive quarter of market leadership.

Recognized wearable products include the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Series and the HUAWEI WATCH D2, the latter approved by China's National Medical Products Administration for its blood pressure monitoring feature. Huawei will host a product launch event in Paris on September 19 to introduce its latest models, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Series.

Delta Electronics showcased its building automation solutions at MARVEX 2025, focusing on energy efficiency and indoor air quality. The event promoted alignment with global carbon neutrality initiatives, displaying technologies such as Delta Controls and the Intelligent Community Management System.

Finally, Dell'Oro Group reported a 22% increase in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) revenue, now at $2.7 billion, driven by the integration of Software-Defined Wide Area Network (WAN) (SD-WAN) and Security Services Edge (SSE). This reflects growing enterprise demand for AI-prepared branch architectures, with Cisco reporting a 52% increase in Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) revenue attributed to client transitions towards Catalyst 8k.
