Nutanix Recognized as a Leader in the Gartner® Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure Magic Quadrant™

Nutanix said it received a Leader recognition in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure. The company framed the result as a reflection of how it expanded its Nutanix Cloud Platform for running and managing workloads across multiple deployment environments.

The announcement took place as hybrid cloud environments became more complex, with requirements around AI, application modernization, sovereignty, and maintaining existing applications running efficiently and securely across a growing mix of environments, according to the release.

Nutanix described its Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) as a unified platform for running and managing AI workloads, applications, and data across on-premises, cloud, and edge environments, while supporting flexibility in where infrastructure gets deployed. The company also said it used a dual-native architecture that brought virtual machines and containers together under a consistent operating model.

NCP updates mentioned in the release included expanded capabilities for agentic AI and advanced Kubernetes capabilities. Nutanix also introduced NKP Metal, which it said would extend its operating model to bare-metal Kubernetes environments, with the NKP Metal deployment option available for early access by NKP PRO and NKP ULT license users now and expected generally available in the second half of 2026. Additional infrastructure support described in the release included broad support for enterprise servers, expanded support for external storage (including general availability for Dell PowerStore, updates for Everpure FlashArray and Dell PowerFlex, and limited availability for NetApp ONTAP), and deployment options across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, plus additional deployment options across sovereign cloud and service provider environments. Nutanix also cited new agentic AI capabilities for model governance, security, and agent-driven operations, and a strategic neocloud partnership with ChronoScale to extend platform capabilities into accelerated compute and AI services.
