Micron joins White House initiative to enhance AI education
Micron Technology, Inc. committed to the White House’s Pledge to America’s Youth: Investing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education initiative. This national effort focuses on equipping young Americans for leadership roles in an AI-driven economy.
Over four years, Micron plans to involve more than 40,000 learners and educators through diverse AI education programs and mentorship. The company aims to integrate AI lessons into all signature programs, collaborate with customers and STEM funders to broaden access, and enhance community partnerships to facilitate AI educational opportunities.
Key actions include launching a new volunteer program and providing free resources on Micron’s Educator Hub. Micron’s efforts align with the executive order focused on advancing AI education and support the nationwide STEM pipeline.
Micron’s CEO, Sanjay Mehrotra, emphasized the importance of investing in AI education, stating, “AI is unlocking a transformative era… this initiative accelerates opportunities for America’s learners.” Micron also seeks to strengthen the domestic semiconductor industry through a $200 billion investment, expected to create approximately 90,000 jobs.
