Cloudera said it had been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Sovereign AI Platform 2026 Vendor Assessment. The company’s position centers on how sovereign AI workloads are governed and audited across different deployment environments.
The update describes an Asia Pacific need to deploy sovereign AI initiatives while meeting data privacy, data residency, and compliance requirements. It also cites recent research from Cloudera saying nearly 92% of Asia Pacific enterprises reported delaying or canceling AI projects due to data governance and compliance issues, and 63% shifted AI workloads back to private cloud or on-premises environments.
Cloudera said its platform delivers “Private AI anywhere,” combining data-in-motion processing, an open data lakehouse, enterprise AI tooling, and a unified data fabric with integrated security and governance across analytics. It referenced Apache Ranger for access control, Apache Atlas for lineage, and Cloudera Data Lineage for automated metadata collection to provide trace-level visibility from source data to deployed models for audit requirements.
Cloudera also described compute being brought directly to governed data so organizations could build AI models in one environment and deploy them to others, including air-gapped data centers or edge devices such as Jetson boards, without rewriting code. The company said it contributed to more than 50 Apache open-source projects, had nearly 2,000 active partner accounts, and provided direct delivery presence in nine Asia/Pacific countries, including a recently announced Cloudera Anywhere Cloud designed to run the sovereign AI stack within a customer’s own cloud account.
