Ribbon Communications Debuts Acumen for Network Operations

Ribbon Communications Inc. launched Acumen, an AI Operations (AIOps) and automation platform on September 16, 2025, to enhance network operations for service providers and enterprises. Acumen addresses the complexities of modern operational environments and supports the transition to autonomous networks.

Luciano Ramos, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Optimum, stated, “Optimum shares Ribbon's vision for building AIOps solutions that can dramatically transform the way networks are managed and maintained.” The platform is anticipated to improve network reliability and performance while establishing a framework for predictive, AI-driven capabilities.

Secure Access Module (SAM) Bucci, COO and EVP at Ribbon, noted the essential role of automation and AIOps in helping network operators meet cost reduction and agility demands. Acumen provides comprehensive observability, AI-driven insights, and adaptable automation tools to facilitate network lifecycle management.

Acumen includes out-of-the-box applications that enhance troubleshooting and offer Key Performance indicator (KPI) dashboards. It features Acumen Builder for creating custom applications with a low-code/no-code workflow builder, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents into business processes. The platform supports both Ribbon and third-party components, ensuring a cohesive view of network performance for data-driven decision-making. Acumen’s automation capabilities encompass deployment, AI Ops, and security, contributing to enhanced operational resilience across networks.
