ABI Research said enterprise AI is shifting toward persistent, long-running agents rather than session-based assistants. The firm linked the change to how autonomous agents are architected, deployed, and governed, reflecting a move toward continuous knowledge-work execution in enterprise settings.

In ABI Research’s analysis, AI claws were described as an emerging class of persistent agents intended to operate across longer time horizons. The firm also pointed to hybrid strategies for AI execution that balance device, edge, and cloud inference, with inference orchestration described as a central capability for production-scale agent systems.

ABI Research characterized the “agentic harness” as the area where enterprise implementation emphasis is increasing. It cited memory, tool orchestration, model routing, and workflow execution as components involved in how these systems run beyond a model’s internal performance.

The analysis also referenced specific product or technology initiatives: Anthropic’s Claude Cowork and Claude Tag; Microsoft’s Scout positioned within its Microsoft 365 ecosystem as part of Autopilot; Perplexity’s hybrid local-cloud inference orchestration in Perplexity Computer; Nvidia’s open agent blueprints and secure runtimes through NemoClaw and OpenShell; and Intel’s SuperClaw focused on local inference and intelligent routing across AI PCs, workstations, and edge devices. “Enterprise AI is entering a new phase in which the real innovation is happening around the agentic harness—memory, tool orchestration, model routing, and workflow execution—not just inside the model itself,” said Larbi Belkhit, Principal Analyst at ABI Research.
