Oracle has introduced Deep Trust AI Architecture, a blueprint intended to lower risk as organizations expand their use of AI. The design treats trust as a built-in property of the enterprise technology stack rather than a duty left to each AI agent and application.
Organizations adding AI agents and AI-generated applications to existing architectures face growing difficulty protecting sensitive information, enforcing business rules, producing accurate answers to business questions, and controlling how AI interacts with enterprise systems. The blueprint resembles Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture in approach, and it reduces reliance on each application or agent implementing every safeguard correctly.
The architecture embeds trust in four layers: the software platform, data, data access, and application development. Oracle Autonomous AI Database applies security updates across the database engine, operating system, storage, and firmware automatically, before those updates are made public. Rolling patching stages changes while applications keep running, and always-on encryption protects data at rest and in motion.
Oracle Deep Data Security defines end-user access rules directly in Oracle AI Database and enforces them on every SQL request, verifying identity through a cryptographically signed token from the corporate directory. Oracle SQL Assertions enforce business rules, such as blocking charges above an employee's spending limit, regardless of which application, user, or agent submits them. Oracle Deep Trust Data APIs offer controlled read and write access to business objects such as purchase orders.
Oracle APEX AI Application Generator enables AI coding agents to translate natural-language descriptions into APEXlang, an open, declarative application definition language. Oracle APEX executes these definitions on a centralized runtime engine with security, scalability, and availability. Because AI generates only the definition rather than the execution code, organizations need not secure and maintain large volumes of generated code.
“AI models can now enable amazing productivity and innovation. However, enterprises can't realize these benefits if they can't trust what AI generates. AI trust is the biggest challenge we face today,” said Juan Loaiza, executive vice president, AI Database Technologies, Oracle. Oracle is also offering security and patching tools free or at highly discounted rates through the end of February 2027.
