Summary
Oracle has added capabilities to its AI Data Platform that give agents a common picture of business entities, relationships, policies, and workflows. The additions focus on helping organizations scale AI reliably.
Agents are now involved in business decisions and execution, not only information retrieval. Scaling them across the business requires avoiding sprawl, duplicated effort, unclear ownership, and inconsistent controls. The platform offers one consistent method to build, manage, govern, and make agents available, with visibility, security, and control maintained throughout.
Business ontologies in the platform define concepts, terminology, relationships, and policies so analytics, agents, and applications interpret data consistently. An AI Discovery agent generates them by analyzing database schemas, semantic models, application and API documentation, and knowledge held in unstructured documents. Domain experts review and refine each ontology before approving it, and the platform monitors agent use to recommend updates for their review.
A Semantic Reasoning Engine uses these ontologies to assemble business-ready context before it reaches the AI model. It orchestrates retrieval across federated systems and applies governance controls, then reuses context and prior findings to reduce repetitive reasoning and token usage. Deep Insight Agents use these ontologies and the engine to examine complex business questions, identify drivers, run forecasts and scenarios, and recommend actions for human review and approval.
The AI Registry maintains a central inventory of agents, tools, skills, and MCP servers, with their ownership, versions, dependencies, permissions, and lifecycle status. Business users can reach registered agents through Oracle Agent Hub or supported third-party assistants, subject to enterprise security policies. “AI agents are moving beyond information retrieval to participate in business decisions and execution,” said T.K. Anand, executive vice president, Oracle.
Oracle is also introducing Oracle AI Data Platform Innovation Service to move high-value AI opportunities from concept to production. Oracle experts work with customer teams to define outcomes and design, build, validate, deploy, and operate solutions on the platform and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Additional capabilities, including Oracle AI Governance and Control, are planned, and new platform capabilities are expected within the next 12 months.
