Nutanix said it received recognition in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management for a second year in a row. The announcement focuses on its Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and its role in container management.
Nutanix stated that NKP has been recognized as a Challenger in this Magic Quadrant for two consecutive years, after the 2024 launch of NKP. It also connected NKP to efforts to reduce operational complexity for application management and to standardize operations across environments.
Nutanix said NKP is a full-scale enterprise platform designed to simplify Kubernetes operations. It stated that NKP can run independently or as part of Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP), and that it supports Kubernetes across virtualized and bare-metal infrastructure, public cloud, edge, and air-gapped environments. It also described NKP as a Cloud Native Computing Foundation certified Kubernetes AI conformant platform with built-in extensions for enterprises to safely build and run agentic AI anywhere.
Nutanix added that it introduced NKP Metal to extend NKP to Kubernetes deployments directly on bare-metal infrastructure. It stated that NKP Metal was designed to provide automated deployment, lifecycle management, and enterprise data services to physical infrastructure, and attributed its recognition to progress made with NKP. “As organizations modernize their applications and embrace AI, they need infrastructure that gives them greater simplicity and flexibility without creating new silos,” said Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President, Product Management, Nutanix.
