Mplify Joins GSMA Open Gateway Framework to Advance Unified Network APIs Across Wired and Wireless Domains

Mplify, an alliance focused on enhancing the AI-powered digital economy, partnered with GSMA for the Open Gateway ecosystem. This collaboration aims to integrate Mplify’s Network as a Service (NaaS) and Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) APIs with the GSMA Open Gateway to create efficient, on-demand connectivity across diverse networking environments.

The agreement promotes cross-domain integration by utilizing Mplify’s LSO APIs alongside GSMA’s CAMARA APIs, enabling seamless mobile and wired connectivity. This partnership supports the development of open and autonomous network frameworks, which are essential for the evolving digital economy driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at GSMA, expressed enthusiasm about Mplify's involvement, stating, “Their participation strengthens our shared mission to create an open, interoperable ecosystem built on common network APIs.” This alignment aims to enhance connectivity and user experiences across various technologies and regions.

The integration of Mplify’s systems within the Open Gateway framework facilitates quality on-demand services, autonomous optimization, and federated Network as a Service (NaaS) supply chains. These capabilities promote real-time adjustments to network performance based on application needs, autonomous management of resources, and improved service assurance through open APIs.

The collaboration also builds on the Quality on Demand demonstration conducted at MWC Barcelona, which illustrated how applications could dynamically adjust network performance via APIs. Key future developments will feature at Mplify’s Global Network as a Service (NaaS) Event in Dallas, which will showcase a demonstration of AI-driven network intelligence.

As the GSMA Open Gateway program comprises over 80 mobile operator groups, representing a large portion of mobile connections globally, this partnership represents a strategic move toward creating a unified Application Programming Interface (API) layer for programmable networks. The initiative enhances capabilities across wired, wireless, and cloud networks and unites enterprises, service providers, and hyperscalers.
