Micron Technology, Inc. and Anthropic Sign Strategic Agreement on Memory and Storage
Micron Technology, Inc. entered into a strategic agreement with Anthropic that links how AI memory and storage infrastructure is designed, supplied, and deployed with the demands of frontier AI models. The arrangement covered enterprise adoption of Anthropic’s Claude models across Micron and included an investment in Anthropic’s Series H funding round.
Micron and Anthropic set the work within a collaboration spanning memory and storage AI architecture design, a memory and storage supply agreement, and Claude adoption at Micron. The agreement also included an investment that aligned the organizations’ planning for next-generation AI infrastructure.
The collaboration centered on memory and storage technologies for how AI systems are built and scaled. Micron’s portfolio referenced HBM, DRAM, and SSDs, which the companies stated underpin performance, power efficiency, and total cost of ownership for AI training and inference.
Micron and Anthropic planned to analyze how memory and storage subsystems perform across various workloads and interact across the full infrastructure stack. The supply agreement spanned Micron’s data center portfolio, and Micron stated it deployed Claude models to accelerate coding and enable more advanced, agentic use cases across engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise functions.
“The AI revolution has permanently elevated the role of memory and storage solutions from the data center to the edge,” said Sumit Sadana, executive vice president and chief business officer, Micron. “Micron’s strategic collaboration with Anthropic brings together the industry-leading capabilities of both companies to innovate and scale next-generation AI infrastructure.” “Our compute strategy depends on getting every layer of the stack right, and memory and storage are central to how efficiently we can train and serve Claude,” said Tom Brown, co-founder and chief compute officer, Anthropic.
The agreement described a focus on memory and storage performance, energy efficiency, and enhanced token economics in Anthropic’s AI infrastructure, alongside Claude adoption and the Series H investment.
