Cloudera secures DoD Blanket Purchase Agreement for data solutions

Agreement streamlines procurement and deployment of Cloudera’s secure, cloud anywhere data platform to support mission-critical initiatives across the Department of Defense.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Cloudera announced it received a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from the Department of Defense (DoD) under the Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) program. This BPA is set to simplify procurement and accelerate the deployment of Cloudera’s platform across the DoD, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Intelligence Community.

The BPA allows Cloudera to offer software for up to five years through a pre-negotiated contract. The DoD ESI program has realized over $7 billion in cost avoidance through volume pricing, facilitating efficient acquisition via the GSA Federal Supply Schedule. This aligns with ESI’s mission to provide cost-effective solutions meeting the DoD’s critical needs.

Jonathan Veal, group vice president of defense and intelligence at Cloudera, stated, “This award opens up opportunities for Cloudera to further support the DoD and the Intelligence Community’s digital transformation initiatives.” He noted that agencies can more easily access Cloudera’s open data lakehouse and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, all provided within a U.S. citizen-on-soil model ensuring compliance and performance standards.

This BPA represents a continuation of Cloudera’s partnership with the U.S. defense and intelligence sectors, focusing on AI capabilities and modernization of mission operations.
