Check Point Software Technologies releases Quantum Firewall R82.10

Check Point Software Technologies released Quantum Firewall Software R82.10, which introduced more than 20 capabilities intended to secure Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption, enforce Zero Trust and unify protection across hybrid mesh networks.

Enterprises were expanding their use of AI tools and Large Language Model (LLM) development while connectivity grew across users, branches and cloud environments, creating new risks including AI-generated threats, identity abuse and configuration drift. R82.10 addressed those challenges with unified, prevention-first capabilities to improve visibility, control and protection across hybrid mesh networks.

The software added functions to detect unauthorized Generative AI (GenAI) tools and expanded visibility into AI applications such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, while monitoring Model Context Protocol (MCP) usage to protect AI workflows. It introduced centralized internet access management for Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and firewalls, simplified gateway-to-SASE connectivity, and strengthened identity and device posture validation to support Zero Trust. New controls included phishing protection without HTTPS inspection, adaptive Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) behavior and Threat Prevention Insights to flag misconfigurations and posture gaps.

R82.10 extended an open-garden architecture with more than 250 integrations to allow endpoint posture signals from existing providers to be applied within Check Point policies. The release integrated with Check Point’s full AI security stack and referenced the recent acquisition of Lakera; the company scheduled a webinar for December 4 featuring leaders from Check Point, NVIDIA and IDC, and said the software would be available to download later that month.

“As organizations embrace AI, security teams are under growing pressure to protect more data, more applications and more distributed environments,” said Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point Software Technologies. “Check Point continues to deliver AI Security innovations at the exact moment customers need them,” said Chris Konrad, Vice President, Global Cyber, World Wide Technology.

The press release contained forward-looking statements about expectations regarding products and solutions, Lakera’s products and solutions, the ability to leverage and integrate Lakera’s capabilities into Check Point, and the ability to deliver an end-to-end AI security stack.
