CAST Introduces AI Acceleration Insights in CAST Highlight
CAST added “AI acceleration insights” to CAST Highlight, giving technology leaders a way to assess where AI and agentic technologies could be applied across software portfolios. The update targets portfolio planning for AI deployment rather than individual pilot efforts.
CAST said many organizations conducted AI pilots over the prior two years, while lacking a portfolio-wide approach for scaling AI. The company positioned the insights as an objective, software-portfolio view that connects AI readiness with decisions that organizations already make around technical debt, modernization, and cloud optimization.
In CAST Highlight, users can evaluate portfolios across “AI Opportunity” and “Agentic Readiness.” “AI Opportunity” detects characteristics for AI suitability and recommends AI services and LLMs from providers including AWS, Anthropic, Microsoft Azure, and OpenAI. “Agentic Readiness” evaluates whether applications have architectural, API, and security foundations needed for autonomous agents.
CAST Highlight can analyze thousands of applications in a single operation, sorting AI readiness into categories such as quick wins, strategically important initiatives, and low-return projects that can be deferred. The findings are integrated into the same software intelligence that supports technical debt, modernization, and cloud optimization decisions, using CAST’s dataset built from analyzing more than 100 billion lines of source code over 25 years.
“Technology leaders are under pressure to move quickly, but they lack a comprehensive view of which applications are ready for AI, which require modernization first, and where investments will yield the greatest return on investment,” said Greg Rivera, VP of Product at CAST. “CAST reveals how far your current software can go given AI’s evolving abilities, where to start the journey, and each step in-between.” The new AI acceleration insights were available immediately as part of CAST Highlight.
