CalAmp launches Google Pub/Sub integration for Telematics Cloud
CalAmp said it made its Google Publish–Subscribe Pattern (Pub/Sub) integration for CalAmp Telematics Cloud generally available, adding a direct real-time data pipeline into Google Cloud. The company framed the change as a way to reduce data delays when handling telematics data.
CalAmp said data latency has become an operational constraint, particularly where organizations need timely decisions and in-transit responses. The company also said the integration expanded cloud delivery options by adding Google Cloud alongside AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Apache Kafka-based environments.
Functionally, the integration streams enriched telematics data continuously into Google Cloud, replacing delays tied to batch processing. CalAmp said the approach supports operational dashboards, analytics platforms, and AI/ML applications using the same data.
CalAmp said the Google Pub/Sub integration is available today to all CalAmp Telematics Cloud DataHub customers. “This capability was driven by our transportation customers,” said Paul Washicko, General Manager of Telematics Solutions at CalAmp. “Organizations building analytics and AI platforms on Google Cloud need immediate access to operational data. This integration enables faster response time, improves route execution, and supports decision-making while events are still unfolding.”
