Aptean previews AppCentral and AI agents for Business Central on-premises customers
Aptean said it offered an exclusive preview of AppCentral and its AI Agents for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to on-premises customers. The company said the preview is set for Directions North America and is designed to give partners access to a packaged platform for deploying AI without moving customers to Business Central online.
Aptean described an on-premises challenge for Business Central deployments: customers running on-premises deployments had no practical path to AI. The company said its AppCentral platform was intended to remove that barrier by keeping on-premises data on-premises and avoiding required migration to Business Central online.
Under Aptean’s described approach, users type questions in everyday language. Aptean’s AppCentral connector links an agent to a customer’s live Business Central environment using pre-built integrations, so the customer does not build or configure components. Aptean said the agent reads live operational data, performs analysis, and returns recommendations in plain English without reimplementation or migration.
The initial release includes 10 AI agents spanning finance, quality, supply chain, sales, procurement, inventory, warehouse, and production, accessible through Agent Central within AppCentral. Aptean said partners can configure up to 20 Intelligent Workflows per customer, with sequences triggered by events or schedules. “For the first time, our partners have a ready-to-sell AI platform and agent suite for their Business Central on-premises customers — with no migration to Business Central online and no lengthy implementation required. They can deploy in days and start delivering business outcomes almost immediately. That's a new conversation with every customer who thought AI wasn't available to them yet,” said Kara McClain, VP Global Partner Program, Aptean. “Until now, AI in the Microsoft Business Central ecosystem has been an online-only story. Aptean's AI platform, AppCentral, removes that barrier. Partners can walk into any Business Central on-premises conversation - across current and prior versions - and offer something truly transformative. That's not an incremental opportunity; it's a new market,” said Bruno Johansson, SVP Product and Technology, Aptean.
