AppViewX expanded its Agent Identity Security capabilities to help enterprises discover, govern, and monitor AI agents, including shadow agents. The update also introduced quantum-resilient agent identities and controls designed to terminate active agent sessions at runtime.
The company described a growing identity challenge created by AI agents that can operate autonomously or on behalf of humans, using models, credentials, privileges, skills, and connections to enterprise systems. It said agent trust depends on credentials and cryptography that remain secure as enterprises prepare for a post-quantum world.
AppViewX presented Agent Identity Security as an identity and access approach built at the identity layer, rather than retrofitting human identity architectures. The release said the platform extends discovery, governance, and runtime security for coding agents, enterprise productivity agents, endpoint agents, SaaS agents, and custom-built agents.
AppViewX added an expanded AI Bill of Materials to discover sanctioned and unsanctioned agents, including browser-based and short-lived script-based shadow agents. It introduced an MCP Gateway to govern MCP servers and provide just-in-time access, an Agent Kill Switch to terminate agents and active sessions via event-driven workflows, SSF integrations, and runtime policies, and cost and compliance controls for AI token usage. The company also extended its core PKI and CLM capabilities to issue cryptographically verifiable quantum-resilient agent identities chained to an AppViewX-managed PKI.
“Governance becomes much harder to introduce after agents and their access have already spread,” said Venkat Chivukula, Vice President, Enterprise Applications and AI at ZoomInfo. “As agents connect to more systems and take more actions, organizations need a way to understand and control their combined access. Agent Identity Security is helping us bring together broader lifecycle governance, privileged access control, and runtime detection so we can establish those guardrails early and maintain control as AI adoption scales.”
