Overview of Recent Activity
Vendors and industry analysts published updates spanning AI factory platform design, validate-first networking validation with NVIDIA DSX Air, and cloud-native networking telemetry and observability improvements. Security reporting covered a CISA advisory on a MuPDF integer overflow vulnerability, GenAI governance enforcement gaps, and vendor collaboration work on post-quantum cryptography migration. Telecom and networking coverage also included RAN planning themes at MWC 2026, optical network density scaling at OFC 2026, and telecom CAPEX outlook changes.
Key Themes and Developments
Technology Releases & Product Enhancements
Aviz Network Copilot NCP R1.6.0 added UI-based agent onboarding, expanded dashboard analytics, and Offline Log Analysis enhancements, along with data connector additions including BigQuery and a Forward Data Connector. The release also described evaluation using OVA/OVF packages and reported “Snyk compliance checks” with “absence of critical vulnerabilities.”
Aviz Networks released Aviz Packet Broker 2.12 with dynamic LAG hashing for granular load balancing based on outer headers, inner headers, or both, plus VXLAN and GRE decapsulation for overlay monitoring visibility. The same release added a FIPS-compliant mode for enforced approved cryptographic behavior across control-plane services, including rejection of weak ciphers such as 3DES and RC4.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement
Aviz Networks and Spectro Cloud described a managed, multi-tenant “AI Factory platform” coordinating networking, Kubernetes operations, and Day-0 through Day-2 lifecycle automation, including “policy-driven isolation across networking, compute, and Kubernetes layers.” Separately, Aviz Networks and VAST Data validated an integrated VAST AI OS and Aviz ONES solution end-to-end in NVIDIA DSX Air for AI factory deployments.
Aviz Networks and Armis outlined feeding Armis Centrix with optimized network telemetry rather than raw packet streams, inserting an observability layer that captures, optimizes, and enriches traffic before analysis. Aviz Networks also partnered with Nozomi Networks on an OT and IoT traffic observability pipeline that routed enriched, filtered telemetry into Nozomi sensors.
Infrastructure, Platform, or Deployment Updates
Aviz Service Node (ASN) R2.4 added cloud-native deployment options, including vASN and vASN_TAP, plus Terraform-based templates for deploying vASN and vTAP. The update also introduced VLAN retention during VXLAN processing and DPI app categorization, with analytics dashboards integrated with Kibana and stated RHEL 9.7 compatibility.
CISA issued an update on an integer overflow vulnerability in Artifex MuPDF tracked as CVE-2026-3308, affecting MuPDF versions through 1.27.0. The advisory described out-of-bounds heap writes during PDF image decoding triggered with a specially crafted PDF and advised avoiding processing untrusted PDF files where possible, or isolating document rendering in a sandboxed or low-privilege process.
Additional Updates from Other Organizations
Dell’Oro Group reported that at MWC 2026, GenAI accounted for about 0.06% of network traffic while attention shifted to uplink growth and AI RAN planning. The note said Ericsson estimated uplink traffic could grow by 3x every five years and stated “AI RAN is happening (across all RAN layers).”
QuSecure said it collaborated with NIST NCCoE on its “Migration to PQC” project consortium, focusing on automated discovery and inventory of quantum-vulnerable public key algorithms and testing solutions in NCCoE lab environments. QuSecure also planned work with Automated Cryptography Discovery and Inventory and PQC vendors to assess tool performance and capability gaps.
