Varonis Systems launches Atlas to manage AI system visibility and control

Varonis Systems announced the availability of Varonis Atlas, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) security platform designed to provide organizations with comprehensive visibility and control over AI systems deployed enterprise-wide.

The platform responds to the increasing integration of AI agents, copilots, and large language models within operational workflows, which interact with data autonomously. Varonis highlighted concerns regarding organizations' limited awareness of their AI assets, functions, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Varonis Atlas operates throughout the AI security lifecycle, encompassing discovery, security assessment, runtime protection, and compliance management. It integrates with various AI technologies, including hosted platforms, custom large language models, agentic frameworks, chatbots, and embedded AI, and links with the Varonis Data Security Platform to incorporate data context beyond traditional AI security tools.

The platform's capabilities enable continuous discovery of AI assets and shadow AI, inspection of AI security postures for vulnerabilities, and proactive penetration testing. It also enforces real-time policies to prevent sensitive data exposure and manage AI compliance and third-party risk, while providing monitoring and detection features with audit trails and alerts, which can interface with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration Automation Response (SOAR) systems.

Ron Bennatan, Vice President of AI and Data Security Strategy at Varonis, said, “Most AI security tools are fragmented and data-blind. They can inventory your AI systems or monitor prompts, but they can’t govern the entire AI lifecycle or control what it does with your critical data. That’s the real risk, and is exactly what Atlas solves.” Yaki Faitelson, CEO and co-founder of Varonis, said, “AI completely disrupts the enterprise security model. Instead of humans clicking through UIs, agents are accessing data directly — and this places data and AI security front and center. If you can’t continuously discover, assess, and secure agents and LLMs, you can’t use AI at scale. Varonis Atlas gives organizations the fastest path to safe and trustworthy AI.”

The company stated that Varonis Atlas is currently accessible, offering a free trial that includes its full suite of functions for AI inventory, posture management, security testing, runtime policy enforcement, and compliance reporting.
