Univers debuts EnOS AI Box with AMD Ryzen AI Embedded processor
Univers announced a collaboration with AMD to introduce the EnOS Artificial Intelligence (AI) Box, a compact edge device intended to move AI processing closer to physical equipment, which the companies described as enabling local decision-making and control.
The release identified industrial, retail and energy as areas where demand for real-time, edge-native intelligence was growing, and it presented the device as a response to that trend by enabling on-site processing and resilient operations in disconnected conditions.
The EnOS AI Box combined Univers' EnOS AIoT platform with an AMD Ryzen AI Embedded processor that included a Neural Processing Unit (NPU); the device packaged heterogeneous compute with high-performance inference, real-time graphics, and industrial-grade Internet of Things (IoT) integration.
Univers and AMD launched the product at CES 2026, and the announcement outlined specific implementations including an AI Box Smart Retail offering that used video analytics for customer behavior, smart shelves for inventory optimization, and occupancy and environmental data to address energy use; the companies also planned demonstrations of energy management and equipment diagnostics at their CES exhibit in the AMD Connect space at The Venetian Las Vegas, Titian Room 2302.
“The world's physical systems are becoming intelligent, and that intelligence increasingly needs to run at the edge,” said Mark Peng, Global Senior Director, Univers. “Univers is the digital layer enabling that shift. With an AMD Ryzen AI Embedded processor, the EnOS™ AI Box brings that intelligence to the physical edge with the speed and resilience modern environments demand.” “Delivering AI at the edge requires efficient, high-performance compute,” said Yousef Khalilollahi, Corporate Vice President & GM, Embedded Business Group, AMD. “Our Ryzen AI Embedded processor provides the capabilities for Univers EnOS™ AI Box to run advanced models on-site, enabling fast inference and secure, local decision-making across a wide range of environments.”
At CES 2026, Univers and AMD demonstrated the EnOS AI Box through use cases that included real-time energy management, equipment diagnostics, and personalized retail experiences.
