Saudi Arabia partners with NVIDIA to bolster AI infrastructure
Saudi Arabia has entered a partnership with NVIDIA aimed at establishing a robust Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure as part of the Kingdom's strategic ambitions. This initiative will support advances in AI, cloud computing, and robotics to position the nation as a future Hub for AI technology.
During a visit with U.S. President Trump, Jensen Huang, NVIDIA's CEO, emphasized that AI will be integral to the country’s growth. “AI, like electricity and internet, is essential infrastructure for every nation,” he stated, highlighting the collaboration with HUMAIN, a subsidiary focused on AI development in Saudi Arabia.
Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, noted the partnership as a significant advancement toward making Saudi Arabia a leader in AI and building foundational capabilities necessary for a technology-driven economy.
NVIDIA's collaboration will include multiple initiatives:
- HUMAIN plans to invest in AI factories with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts using NVIDIA's advanced GPUs.
- The deployment of the first phase includes an 18,000 NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer.
- HUMAIN will implement the first NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud to simulate AI applications through digital twins.
- NVIDIA aims to enhance the country's computing ecosystem and offer training for thousands of developers.
- NVIDIA and the Saudi Data & AI Authority will create a sovereign AI factory, deploying thousands of GPUs to facilitate smart city projects.
- Aramco Digital will establish infrastructure and collaborate with NVIDIA on AI platforms and robotics initiatives.
Disaster Recovery (DR). Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, president of the SDAIA, expressed that the partnership is a commitment to harnessing AI and data innovation, pointing toward the Kingdom's goal of establishing a data-centric economy by 2030.
These endeavors are anticipated to support growth across sectors such as energy and manufacturing by leveraging digital twins and AI technologies, ultimately contributing to economic diversification as outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 framework.
