Bank Negara Indonesia deepens partnership with Cloudera to enhance AI-driven solutions

Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) deepened its partnership with Cloudera to advance its digital transformation, focusing on AI-powered solutions. The collaboration aims to enhance BNI’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) supply chain, governance, and analytics capabilities using Cloudera’s open, hybrid data platform.

As part of this relationship, BNI became an early adopter of Cloudera AI Inferencing, powered by NVIDIA microservices. This on-premises (on-prem) service provides secure deployment of large language models, enabling BNI to operationalize Generative AI (GenAI) while maintaining control over sensitive data. Full implementation is scheduled for the end of 2025.

BNI’s Chief Information Officer, Toto Prasetio, highlighted the importance of Cloudera’s service in scaling GenAI efforts securely. The partnership aligns with Indonesia's regulatory framework and supports BNI’s goals for efficient customer services. Cloudera’s unified data platform meets enterprise AI requirements, enabling BNI to enhance predictive analytics and customer personalization.

BNI currently utilizes Machine Learning (ML) in various domains, including product recommendations based on customer history, optimizing supply chain analytics, and detecting suspicious online gambling activities. Remus Lim from Cloudera expressed support for BNI’s pioneering approach to AI in banking, emphasizing their commitment to providing a robust AI infrastructure.

This ongoing collaboration underscores BNI’s strategic focus on modernizing its data architecture as it navigates the evolving digital finance landscape in Indonesia.
