Delta inaugurates Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center in Taiwan

Delta inaugurated its Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center in Taiwan, a facility aimed at equipment validation and talent development for the electronics and semiconductor industries. This center serves as a one-stop platform featuring practical training, production verification, and collaboration with customers to implement geographically-distributed production methods and smart centralized management.

In a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, Delta launched the Delta & NVIDIA Cyber-Physical Integration Classroom, designed to facilitate the adoption of digital twin and Artificial Intelligence (AI) model applications. This initiative offers integrated training programs covering individual machines, production lines, and factory-wide systems, utilizing resources from the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. Approximately one hundred representatives from various sectors attended the opening event.

Simon Chang, Delta's President and COO, stated that the center signifies a milestone in Delta's dedication to smart manufacturing solutions through AI. He emphasized the importance of leveraging experience to assist partners in creating scalable smart machinery and efficient production line planning to accelerate product development.

Andy Liu, General Manager of Delta's Industrial Automation Business Group, noted the challenges in integrating new technologies into existing systems. The Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center mitigates these issues by simulating real-world production environments, validating technologies, and providing training programs that address operational hurdles.

Located at Delta's Zhongli Plant, the center covers approximately 500 square meters and features a 3D dashboard for real-time monitoring, hands-on validation zones, and equipment testing to support rapid deployment. The center also presents scenarios showcasing Delta's Line Manager platform and DIATwin digital twin technology to enhance efficiency.

The curriculum at the Delta & NVIDIA Cyber-Physical Integration Classroom includes courses on digital simulation and AI model applications, with plans to introduce additional training on new technologies focusing on digital twins and robotic equipment. Delta aims to support industries in developing replicable smart manufacturing solutions.
