Proofpoint expands global partnership with Microsoft to enhance cybersecurity through Azure

Proofpoint has announced an expanded global partnership with Microsoft, designating Azure as the primary platform for its future innovations. This collaboration aims to enhance cybersecurity for joint customers by leveraging Azure’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and cloud infrastructure to improve threat protection and data security.

In the previous year, many publicly reported data breaches resulted from human-centric compromises, particularly through email and data mismanagement. Darren Lee, Executive Vice President at Proofpoint, stated that the partnership will help organizations reduce human risk associated with cybersecurity threats.

Kathleen Brown from Microsoft noted that this partnership exemplifies how Azure supports security vendors in addressing evolving customer needs. Proofpoint plans to utilize Azure to accelerate the introduction of new features across its human-centric security platform.

The integration of Proofpoint's platform with Microsoft 365 is expected to provide organizations with more efficient security solutions, emphasizing the importance of email security and data protection. New integrations are slated for launch by Q2 2025.

Additionally, Proofpoint's Nexus intelligence will enhance Microsoft Sentinel through improved threat response capabilities, allowing customers to integrate deeper threat insights into their security strategies.

Overall, this alliance aims to deliver advanced protections against modern cybersecurity risks by utilizing a combined approach to threat detection and risk mitigation.
