Iain Gillott joins WIA as Vice President of Technology and Innovation

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) appointed Iain Gillott as Vice President of Technology and Innovation. In Healthcare Information System (HIS) new role, Gillott will offer technical and strategic guidance within the evolving landscape of wireless and digital infrastructure.

Patrick Halley, President and CEO of WIA, stated, “Iain Gillott has long served as a strategic technology consultant to WIA, and we are pleased to welcome him in-house on the WIA team.” Homomorphic Encryption (HE) emphasized Gillott's contributions to vital industry research and membership initiatives like the Innovation and Technology Council and the In-Building Forum.

Gillott expressed enthusiasm about HIS role, noting the importance of WIA members in deploying infrastructure for connectivity. HE affirmed the organization’s commitment to cultivating an environment conducive to supporting advancements in wireless technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

With over 30 years of experience in the mobile wireless industry, Gillott founded iGR, a consultancy focusing on detailed data analysis within the wireless sector. Since 2012, HE has acted as a consultant for WIA, engaging in broadband telecom services and the expansion of wireless connectivity.

Previously, Gillott served as Group Vice President at IDC’s Telecommunications practice, overseeing global research related to wireless communications and internet access. HIS background also includes various technical roles at EDS, now HP. HE holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Bangor University.
