AppViewX named a leader in IDC MarketScape CLM 2026
AppViewX was positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Certificate Lifecycle Management Software 2026 Vendor Assessment, a placement the company announced on Jan. 28, 2026 that reflected IDC’s evaluation of certificate lifecycle management offerings.
The IDC assessment described trends that shaped its evaluation, citing shrinking Transport Layer Security (TLS) lifecycles, rising certificate volumes, and preparation for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), and the report provided guidance to buyers, noting that AppViewX Cooling Load Model (CLM) suited medium-sized and large organizations in hybrid or multicloud environments that needed centralized certificate lifecycle management from multiple Content Addressable Storage (CAS), distributed ownership, and self-service within a broader cryptographic platform.
The report outlined AVX CLM capabilities, stating the product addressed discovery, inventory, lifecycle orchestration, and governance for TLS/SSL, client authentication, code signing, email, document signing, Internet of Things (IoT) certificates, and Secure Shell (SSH) keys; it also described the solution as designed to manage millions of certificates across hybrid and multicloud deployments and highlighted workflow automation, policy-driven and role-based automation, and features that enable crypto-agile transitions.
The assessment characterized AppViewX as a CA-agnostic, automation-first platform focused on end-to-end lifecycle orchestration, policy enforcement, and operational visibility, and the release cited customer feedback including a large auto manufacturing client reporting a 90% reduction in manual processes; the company listed headquarters in New York and development centers in Boston, Coimbatore, and Bangalore and named mid-size enterprises to Fortune 500 companies among its users, including six of the top 10 global banks and five of the top 10 healthcare providers.
“As certificate volumes grow and lifecycles shrink, customers need automation that scales without friction, deploys quickly, and doesn't introduce unnecessary complexity,” said Paul Trulove, CPO of AppViewX. “Certificate lifecycle management is becoming an operational requirement as organizations contend with shrinking IETF TLS Protocol lifecycles, rising certificate volumes, and preparation for post-quantum cryptography,” said Jennifer Glenn, Research Director, Security and Trust Group at IDC.
The release included a statement from AppViewX referencing its strategic focus on making large-scale certificate operations manageable and reliable as cryptographic change accelerates.
