Gilat Satellite Networks secures $60 million for Peru broadband project

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has secured a contract valued at approximately $60 million from Pronatel, Peru’s national telecommunications program. This investment aims to upgrade the broadband infrastructure in specific regions of Peru over the next four years.

Project Overview

The initiative focuses on providing 200 Mbps internet access to nearly 800 public institutions, which includes schools, health centers, and police stations. The service migration for this infrastructure is expected to occur within the next 12 months, addressing connectivity needs in 280 localities.
