Gilat Satellite Networks secures $7 million In-Flight Connectivity order

The Aerostream BUCs Agent Runtime Environment (ARE) is designed to enable high-speed In-Flight Connectivity via LEO Constellation (Low Earth Orbit) (Low Earth Orbit (LEO)) and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites.

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced a $7 million order through its Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Commercial Division for Gilat Wavestream’s Aerostream 60W Ka-band Wideband BUCs. The units will be utilized as part of a next-generation In-Flight Connectivity solution for commercial aircraft, with deliveries expected over the next 24 months.

The Aerostream 60W Ka-band Wideband BUC operates within the 27.5 to 30.0 GHz frequency range and is designed to provide robust In-Flight Connectivity across both Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and GEO satellite systems. The product's Hardware Attestation Service successfully met environmental, reliability, and performance standards necessary for commercial aviation platforms.

Gilat was selected based on its history of delivering high-efficiency RF solutions tailored for airborne connectivity. The latest order follows a successful joint qualification program concluded in the third quarter of 2025.

Edgar Khatchatryan, President at Gilat Wavestream, emphasized confidence in their products, stating, “We are pleased to have passed the line-fit qualification tests and to see continued adoption of our Ka-band SSPAs for In-Flight Connectivity across LEO and GEO satellite constellations.”
