Gilat Satellite Networks secures $11 million SkyEdge platform order
Gilat Satellite Networks said its Commercial Division won an approximately $11 million contract to supply the SkyEdge platform to a satellite operator in the Asia Pacific region to support services over Very High Throughput (VHT) Satellites.
The company reported that the platform was chosen for its performance in high-capacity networks, its flexibility to accommodate diverse service profiles, and its capacity to scale with evolving market demands, framing the deal as a commercial deployment of ground systems for VHT Satellites.
The SkyEdge platform will be used to deliver services over VHT Satellites and to support multiple applications, with an emphasis on enabling advanced mobility services while seeking to maximize the value of the operator's Very High Throughput Satellite (VHTS) assets, according to the release.
Gilat said the order was placed with its Commercial Division and that deliveries were expected over the next 12 months; the company identified the buyer only as a satellite operator in the Asia Pacific region and described the contract value as approximately $11 million.
“We are proud to support this customer’s VHTS strategy with a SkyEdge platform that is purpose-built for high capacity, multi-application satellite networks,” said Ron Levin, President, Gilat Commercial Division.
