Eviden makes KMS available on AWS European Sovereign Cloud
Eviden made its external Key Management System (KMS) available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud to support customers requiring EU data residency and compliance, and to extend availability across its European customer base.
The release described the AWS European Sovereign Cloud as a fully featured, independently operated sovereign cloud backed by technical controls, sovereign assurances, and legal protections designed to meet the needs of European governments and enterprises, with infrastructure located entirely within the EU and operating independently from existing Regions.
Eviden's external KMS was based on a European sovereign Hardware Security Module (HSM) acting as a root of trust by keeping the master key outside the cloud. The solution provided sovereign-by-design encryption key lifecycle management while maintaining the security, availability, and performance customers expect from AWS.
Eviden served as a launch partner for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and made its KMS available immediately; the company planned demonstrations of Eviden KMS at AWS Summit Paris and at INCYBER Forum Europe as stated in the release.
“At Eviden, we are proud to play a key role in strengthening European digital sovereignty. We help organizations across Europe access the highest levels of trust, autonomy, and control over their data. This reflects our commitment to providing end-to-end sovereign solutions and reinforces Eviden’s position as a leading European player in security and innovation.” Yann Vincent, global head of cybersecurity product, Eviden, Atos Group, said.
Customers could begin planning their transition to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud with full European external encryption at their side.
