Deep Network Observability Interop aims for flexible solutions

Recent analysis highlights that conventional observability solutions, such as packet brokers and service nodes, often fall short in meeting the needs of scalability and agility. IT infrastructure teams are facing challenges related to rising hardware update costs, rigid architectures, and limited data ownership due to vendor-centric interfaces.

Organizations are grappling with increased expenses during hardware refresh cycles, inflexible designs that restrict adaptability, and challenges in assessing return on investment regarding port pricing. Existing systems frequently do not fulfill modern efficiency needs around power consumption and rack space utilization.

To tackle these challenges, a reevaluation of observability frameworks is being called for. The Deep Network Observability Interop initiative seeks to demonstrate the potential for developing modular, software-driven, and vendor-neutral observability solutions that are compatible with current Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks, pointed out that this initiative marks a critical moment in the field, stating, “Infrastructure teams deserve choices, transparency, and automation that scale.” He underscored the Interop's aim as providing organizations a means to migrate from traditional observability systems while ensuring performance and control.
