Datadog Introduces Bits AI Security Analyst in Datadog Cloud SIEM
Datadog, Inc. made Bits Artificial Intelligence (AI) Security Analyst available to customers, positioning the tool to speed up security alert investigations and shorten the time needed to reach investigation outcomes. The company said the approach combines analyst-style investigation with automation inside its Datadog Cloud Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
In the announcement, Datadog linked the effort to pressure on Security Operations (SecOps) (SOC) teams, where analysts face growing investigation workloads and investigations that can take hours to complete. Datadog also said that agentic-powered attacks have compounded the pace of work for security teams.
Bits AI Security Analyst was described as pairing a senior SOC analyst’s expertise with machine scale and speed to analyze across a breadth and volume of data sources. Datadog said it delivers high-accuracy verdicts backed by real-world context, and it was positioned as reducing investigations that otherwise can take analysts hours to as little as 30 seconds within Datadog’s Cloud SIEM.
Datadog said Bits AI Security Analyst supports autonomous completion of steps that teams can otherwise take hours to carry out in other SIEMs, including acknowledging alerts, running investigations, gathering evidence, analyzing results, and escalating if needed. The company quoted Tim Knudsen, Vice President of Security Products at Datadog: “Traditional SIEMs are leaving enterprises increasingly exposed because queues keep growing and investigations take longer to correlate and enrich context. On top of this, you have security talent shortages,” said Tim Knudsen, Vice President of Security Products at Datadog. “Datadog Cloud SIEM with Bits AI Security Analyst solves this problem by autonomously investigating alerts, and leveraging security and observability signals to deliver accurate, fully explained verdicts that dramatically reduce remediation times.” Datadog also quoted Yanbing Li, Chief Product Officer at Datadog: “To combat modern attacks, SOCs need intelligent, autonomous systems that can investigate and report clearly. That’s exactly what Bits AI Security Analyst delivers—a trusted AI agent that acts as an always-on senior SOC analyst teammate.” Datadog stated Bits AI Security Analyst is now generally available.
