Cequence Security says NTT DOCOMO deployed its application and API protection platform
Cequence Security said NTT DOCOMO, INC. deployed Cequence’s application and API protection platform. The deployment involved protection for applications, APIs, and data that support DOCOMO’s service infrastructure. The company linked the work to its expanding presence in Japan.
Cequence said it selected its platform to protect applications, APIs, and data supporting DOCOMO’s service infrastructure. Cequence also said it would strengthen its sales, technical, and support capabilities in Japan and deepen collaboration with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC), its domestic sales partner, to support Japanese enterprises.
Cequence’s platform was described as supporting protection across web, mobile, API, and AI channels, including security, governance, and control capabilities for AI agents. The company said it targeted access and misuse related to attacks and unauthorized access and addressed security and governance controls needed when enterprise systems rely on APIs for agent-to-system communications.
Cequence said it launched Cequence AI Gateway in Japan as a security and governance solution for AI agents. The company described AI Gateway as providing authentication, authorization, visibility, governance, and control capabilities for AI agents to access internal and external APIs as well as MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, including monitoring and guardrail capabilities, plus governance and compliance management.
