BlueCat Networks introduces BlueCat Horizon SaaS platform

BlueCat Networks introduced BlueCat Horizon, a SaaS-based platform intended to modernize how enterprises and mid-market organizations operate, secure, and evolve their networks using AI-assisted insights and coordinated action across the network.

The company unveiled the platform at Cisco Live Amsterdam and described a common set of platform and infrastructure services designed to support multiple network applications and to enable cross-domain use cases that the release said had previously been siloed.

According to the release, Horizon provided a unified control plane for Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IP Address Management (IPAM), security, and observability, and it included shared services for policy, identity, telemetry, analytics, automation, and AI-assisted intelligence; the release said the design emphasized decision enablement beyond the collection of network data such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and flows.

The initial offering was Horizon DDI, which the release said was built for cloud-first and hybrid environments and provided an orchestration plane for third-party infrastructure and BlueCat-native solutions by managing Microsoft Active Directory, BIND, Key Exchange Algorithm (KEA), and cloud DNS. The release added that lightweight, distributed, on-premises (on-prem) Service Points optionally delivered local policy-based DNS and DHCP and deep telemetry while preserving data sovereignty.

“Most network teams are constrained by tools that operate in isolation and require constant swivel-chair operations,” said Scott Fulton. “BlueCat Horizon changes that model by providing shared platform services that connect insight to action. It provides a practical architecture for moving from reactive operations toward automated, policy-driven, and ultimately self-healing, intelligent networks.”

BlueCat made Horizon available for demonstration at Cisco Live Amsterdam, booth A19, and planned General Availability (GA) for Q2 2026.
