AppViewX named overall leader in KuppingerCole report on non-human identity management
AppViewX was recognized as an Overall Leader in the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Non-Human Identity Management (NHIM).
Machine identities, also known as non-human identities, encompass certificates, keys, APIs, and autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems that operate in cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and on-premises (on-prem) infrastructures. These identities exceed human identities by a ratio of 50 to 1, presenting a broad surface that requires governance and security controls.
The evaluation focused on vendors' abilities to manage the lifecycle, governance, and security of these identities, including assets such as certificates, keys, APIs, service accounts, containers, workloads, bots, and devices. AppViewX's platform integrates certificate lifecycle management (CLM) with NHIM governance through features like intelligent discovery, closed-loop automation, broad integrations with cloud and DevOps tools, and auditing capabilities.
AppViewX's solution offers advanced automation that combines discovery, orchestration, and remediation, supported by flexible deployment options and dashboards for crypto-resilience tracking. This approach underscores the role of certificate management as a core trust mechanism for machine identities across various workloads and services.
Paul Trulove, chief product officer at AppViewX, said, “Being named an Overall Leader by KuppingerCole further validates our technology advantage in this rapidly growing area of identity security. This recognition reinforces the value of our platform and our commitment to helping customers simplify and strengthen how they manage certificates, keys, and non-human identities across their environments.”
The report identified the need for comprehensive governance frameworks to secure evolving digital environments as non-human identities become more prevalent. AppViewX plans to present its latest certificate lifecycle management developments at the Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit in Dallas in December 2025.
