The United States Air Force has extended its use of PTC's Servigistics service supply chain optimization solution under the Enterprise Supply Chain Analysis, Planning, and Execution (ESCAPE) program. The renewal continues a relationship of nearly a decade focused on modernizing the Air Force service supply chain and improving aircraft and system readiness.
The Air Force first selected Servigistics in 2017 to modernize service parts planning across its global supply chain. Since then, its use of the solution has expanded to meet more advanced planning and optimization requirements and to modernize the supply chain planning environment.
Servigistics helps the Air Force align inventory and supply decisions with aircraft and system availability objectives. It does so by combining advanced forecasting, multi-echelon optimization, supply planning, machine learning, and AI to ensure critical parts are available where and when they are needed. The Air Force has also used the solution to consolidate legacy systems.
The renewal marks the next phase of this work. It creates opportunities to use AI and exception-based management so planners can identify emerging issues, evaluate alternatives, automate routine workflows, and direct expert attention to decisions that require intervention.
“Readiness depends on our ability to anticipate requirements and make effective supply chain decisions in an increasingly complex operational environment,” said Abigail Strobell, Deputy Chief, U.S. Air Force. “Our continued use of Servigistics enables us to build on the progress we have made in modernizing service parts planning and strengthen the supply chain capabilities that support aircraft availability.”
Servigistics, along with the rest of PTC's portfolio, supports the company's vision for the Intelligent Product Lifecycle, which centers on building a modern product data foundation and extending that data across the enterprise. The next phase is described as creating opportunities to build on AI and exception-based management in planning.
