Tintri announces General Availability of VMstore T7290 and TxOS 6.0
Tintri, a subsidiary of DDN, announced the General Availability (GA) of its VMstore T7290 hardware platform and the TxOS 6.0 software. This launch aims to enhance data management efficiency in enterprise environments, providing advanced features for hypervisor, database, and container ecosystems.
Phil Trickovic, senior vice president and general manager at Tintri, stated, “The VMstore T7290 is a major milestone for Tintri customers, combining robust enterprise capabilities with ease of use, unprecedented scalability, enhanced security and expanded cloud and hypervisor support.” The T7290 reportedly allows organizations to focus on maximizing scale while managing system complexity.
The VMstore T7290 offers a 40% increase in performance and supports 30 Throughput Benchmark (TB) drives, which doubles system capacity compared to prior models. It can scale to 2.58 PB in a single configuration and accommodate over 165 PB in a scale-out arrangement. Organizations can manage extensive amounts of virtual machines and persistent container volumes.
Security features include the Glas-DP, Tintri's integrated data protection suite, alongside dual custody snapshot locking. The T7290 integrates multi-hypervisor and container support with platforms including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Xen, and Red Hat RHEV, among others. The updated TxOS 6.0 offers better observability and automation for simplified administration.
The Tintri VMstore T7290 and TxOS 6.0 are available through Tintri and certification partners.
