Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that uses standardized protocols to transport digital data across public and private infrastructures. It matters in enterprise contexts because it underlies connectivity for cloud access, digital services, remote users, partners and customers.
Nokia has entered into a multi-year partnership with Surge to deploy a 5G Fixed Wireless Access network in Indonesia. The project aims to enhance internet connectivity in areas with limited fiber access, supporting the government's digital inclusion initiatives, with deployment expected to start in December 2025.
It will offer ultrafast, low-latency satellite connectivity to customers in rural and remote areas where traditional fixed-line infrastructure is economically unviable or geographically challenging to build.
