Teradata has added privacy, security, and resiliency capabilities aimed at a central problem in enterprise AI: protecting sensitive data, limiting who can access it, and keeping it available and recoverable when failures occur. The aim is to protect the intelligence behind AI without reducing its usefulness.
As AI becomes mission-critical, it raises both the value and the exposure of enterprise data. Sensitive information now passes between users, applications, models, and agents, which makes boundary-only security harder to maintain. AI is built to combine separate records and identify patterns, so data that is not individually identifiable can become identifiable once combined.
Poly-Anonymization replaces personal identifying fields with a stable identifier and holds the underlying identity separately in Anonomatic PII Vault, a post-quantum-secure environment. Format-preserving encryption protects values without altering their format. Other protections include TLS 1.3 hybrid-key exchange for data in transit, immutable backup protection that prevents recovery points from being modified or deleted, and a database-level high availability layer distinct from disaster recovery.
Teradata describes native data security features that include dynamic data masking, data classification and tagging, and column-level encryption. Through a partnership with Immuta, dynamic ABAC applies attribute-driven access control consistently across users and AI workloads without duplicating data. Privacy capabilities powered by Anonomatic are available now on Teradata Cloud on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Teradata Enterprise Data Protection uses a workload-aligned approach, so organizations can match protection levels to business criticality. Its objective is to restore the trusted context AI needs to resume mission-critical operations. Immutable backup protection is available now on Teradata Cloud across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and availability on Teradata Customer Cloud is planned for the coming months.
Sumeet Arora, Chief Product Officer at Teradata, said “Privacy, security, and resiliency have historically been treated as separate problems with separate solutions.” Matt Fleck, founder and CEO at Anonomatic, said “Our partnership with Teradata makes it possible to reduce identity exposure at enterprise scale.” Teradata said its security and resiliency architecture is designed to extend as AI environments and cyber threats evolve.
