Tencent Cloud partners with Maxon to add generative AI to Cinema 4D
At Mobile World Congress 2026, Tencent Cloud and Maxon said they had formed a partnership to bring Generative AI (GenAI) features into Maxon’s Cinema 4D applications, with both companies framing the work as intended to keep artists in control of creative workflows.
The companies placed the announcement in the context of public concerns about Artificial Intelligence (AI), including fears that AI could undermine creativity, replace jobs, or use models lacking clear ethical standards, and they described a transparent, creator-first response to those concerns.
The partners described Tencent HY 3D Global as a self-developed GenAI model that provided API-based services for high-quality 3D model generation and processing, and they said the technology would be integrated into Cinema 4D on iPad and desktop to bring scalable GenAI into creators’ workflows.
At MWC, Tencent Cloud presented the first recorded demonstration of the integration, showing a workflow in which the creator led each step and GenAI acted as a supportive assistant; the partnership also built on a long-standing relationship between Tencent and Maxon, the press release stated.
Philip Losch, Chief Technology and AI Officer of Maxon, said, “Working closely with Tencent Cloud has given us the agility to experiment and iterate quickly. The collaboration unlocks new levels of scalability and reliability for creators. It ensures generative AI delivers high quality results that expand what artists can achieve, while maintaining the flexibility and precision they expect. This sets the stage for a new era of creative workflows.”
Cinema 4D's new feature was expected to be available in late 2026.
