SUSE expands collaboration with Amazon Web Services to integrate AI and cloud technologies

SUSE and Amazon Web Services (AWS) expanded their strategic collaboration to incorporate SUSE’s enterprise open source solutions with AWS’s Amazon Q and Amazon Bedrock services, aiming to enhance infrastructure availability on AWS. This multi-year agreement builds on their established partnership to extend SUSE's capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and public cloud technologies.

The collaboration addresses operational obstacles in cloud native application deployment by offering integrated solutions that can facilitate the management of complex cloud environments. The agreement underscores SUSE's focus on developing scalable infrastructure to support AI workloads and cloud operations.

Under this partnership, SUSE's Enterprise Container Management and Business Critical Linux have been engineered to integrate with AWS AI services through the Software Composition Analysis (SCA) framework. This ensures compatibility and support for cloud environments while aiming to streamline developer access to container and Linux technologies alongside AWS's AI offerings.

The scope of this collaboration includes ongoing joint engineering efforts to align SUSE's solutions with AWS’s advancements in cloud and AI. This integration aims to provide a supported and efficient path for customers adopting cloud native technologies and leveraging AI capabilities within AWS’s infrastructure.

Christine Puccio, Global VP of AWS Growth Strategy at SUSE, said, “For a decade and a half, we have acted as a proven foundation for critical enterprise workloads on AWS. The new strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) transforms that legacy of trust into an engineering mandate for the future.” She added, “Combining SUSE’s open source solutions with AWS leadership, we are designing to simplify and standardize cloud-native operations. It's not merely an upgrade; it's engineering that fundamentally expands our position in AI and modern cloud infrastructure.”

The companies indicated that the collaboration would maintain alignment with evolving cloud and AI innovations, intending to reduce deployment complexity for developers and enhance integration between SUSE's container and Linux offerings and AWS services like Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q.
