STL showcases Unitube Indoor Optical Fibre Cable with Multi-Core Fiber at Connected Britain 2025
Software Testing Lifecycle (STL) demonstrated its Unitube Single Jacket Indoor Fibre Optic Cable featuring Multi-Core Fiber (MCF) at Connected Britain 2025. This cable is designed for performance and safety in demanding indoor environments and is certified under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) EuroClass Cca-s2, d1, a1, which ensures high fire resistance. It is suitable for data centres, campus networks, commercial buildings, and various indoor installations.
By integrating four cores within the same cladding diameter as traditional single-mode fibre, the MCF allows for more efficient use of space without expanding the cable footprint. STL highlighted that this cable supports advanced applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 5G, offering four times the throughput potential compared to legacy fibres.
Badri Gomatam, STL's CTO, remarked on the continuous innovation in optical technologies and emphasized the importance of the Unitube cable in meeting the demands for high-capacity networks. The deployment of this technology aims to facilitate secure and scalable network infrastructures, reflecting ongoing global standardization efforts.
