StarHub partners NeutraDC to deploy quantum-safe connectivity between Singapore and Indonesia

StarHub and NeutraDC, the data centre division of Telkom Indonesia, have formalized an agreement to collaborate on deploying quantum-resistant security measures and next-generation network infrastructure between Singapore and Indonesia.

This initiative aims to enhance secure, low-latency data connections across the two countries, supporting digital service networks within the region. The effort aligns with Singapore's role as a regional digital hub, facilitating efficient and secure cross-border access to data resources.

The collaboration involves integrating StarHub's Low-Latency Data Centre Connect service with NeutraDC's carrier-neutral data centre facilities, providing direct connectivity through Points of Presence (PoP) at NeutraDC SNG-3 in Singapore. Key features include ultra-low-latency interconnects, sub-millisecond links to cable landing stations, and support for Software Defined Networking (SDN) functionalities such as bandwidth-on-demand and multi-tenancy portals.

The partnership addresses quantum security challenges by incorporating Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to protect data against emerging threats. Customers will have access to enhanced network capabilities including Column-Level Security (CLS) connectivity, quantum-safe encryption, and automated service provisioning to improve network flexibility.

Tan Kit Yong, Chief of Regional Enterprise at StarHub, said, “Enterprises today are navigating unprecedented data demands, and they need infrastructure that can keep up with their growth. Through this collaboration with NeutraDC, we're making it simpler for businesses to move, protect, and scale their data, helping them unlock real performance advantages and accelerate their digital transformation across the region.” Sendang Praptomo, Chief Executive Officer of NeutraDC Singapore, said, “We are excited to work with StarHub, a leader with a proven track record of connectivity solutions. This strategic initiative strengthens NeutraDC's strategy of providing seamless, secure and cloud ready connectivity to our regional Neutra Compute GPU clouds. Quantum secure connectivity represents the new frontier of security, overcoming the limitations of current encryption standards. This will empower our customers to stay ahead of emerging threats and meet evolving business requirements.”

The collaboration extends StarHub's Low-Latency Data Centre Connect network within Southeast Asia, building connections with major data centre operators to offer enterprise clients enhanced, quantum-secure and cloud-ready interconnectivity aimed at supporting digital enterprise growth.
