Simbian to Host the First AI SOC Championship on April 8

Competition simulating SOC of the future will award winners prizes totaling $10,000.

Simbian announced it is hosting the industry’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) SOC Championship on April 8. This competition will test the threat hunting and remediation skills of participants, with cash prizes available totaling $10,000. For more information and to register, visit: https://resources.simbian.ai/ai-soc-championship-2025.

The competition simulating the Security Operations (SecOps) Center (SOC) of the future consists of a complex environment full of 100 active alerts from SIEMs, XDRs, and EDRs, including CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, IBM QRadar, and Splunk. Participants will guide AI Agents in a race to investigate a maze of threats accurately.

Three grand prizes totaling $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000 will be awarded. Ten additional winners will receive $500. Winners will be determined by their speed and accuracy in completing the challenge. Participants can compete as an individual or as a team of up to three people, with teams splitting any prizes among the members.

Ambuj Kumar, Simbian CEO and Co-Founder, noted that there is momentum toward an AI SOC model and anticipates that within the next 2-3 years, most SOCs will be AI-first. He states, “The AI SOC Championship competition is a lucrative opportunity for anyone who thrives in high intensity cyber defense activities to not just win prizes and bragging rights, but also to test their readiness for an AI-first SOC of the future.”

An AI SOC creates career advancement opportunities for SOC analysts and threat hunters. With AI performing repetitive tasks, analysts can focus on higher impact work such as planning, prioritization, and business-security tradeoffs.

SecOps Centers worldwide are experiencing a shortage of security talent. Simbian’s suite of AI Agents addresses this gap by autonomously performing common tasks within SOC, Threat Hunting, Vulnerability Remediation Management, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). These agents play a key role in an AI-first SOC.

Simbian’s platform includes an AI SOC Agent that autonomously triages and responds to alerts, while also taking necessary actions. Simbian’s Threat Hunting Agent actively searches for threats across the environment using AI.
